Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four kids born August 9, 1976, from Beaumont Puy de Domme. From a very young age, both her dental doctor parents as well as her teacher mother supported Audrey's love of theater and drama. The passion for theater was the one that trumps her first desire to become a an animal scientist. As a young woman, her rise to stardom was quick and accompanied by early successes. It was only in 1999 after which she began acting professionally. In the years following her studies, Tautou was a participant in the French television show for talent scouting called Jeunes Premiers. Tautou was born into an Catholic home, and was a member of the her church even though she went to school at the Institut Catholique de Paris. She pursued a career in modeling in addition to her acting work and is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel is often called the Chanel Muse. A keen photographer, she has recently exhibited in the Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. Her photography largely focuses on the spotlight and celebrities and turns the camera on those who scrutinized her following her sudden rise to fame with Amelie in addition to a series of self-portraits. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and global fame after her first big role, starring in the role of the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie has been an international box office success and has been lauded at numerous award festivals around the globe. The film is still the top-grossing French language film to date in the US. Following this massive success, Tautou was later cast in many films which included British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. Tautou also appeared alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
